What to expect

Let us join you on the Cuiabá River to explore a labyrinth of rivers and lakes within the Encontro das Aguas State Park, one of the richest areas in the world to observe jaguars in the wild. We will spend the entire day aboard small motorboats to maximize the chances of sightings accompanied by our local guides.

August and early September is the best time to see these magnificent animals because the dry season reaches its peak. This photographic safari is designed to spend as much time as possible in front of these wonderful animals in a very small group of photographers to maximize freedom of movement.

Gabi Guiard, publicist by profession, was born in 1972 in Badalona, a city by the sea.From his early years he felt very drawn to the small wonders that the Mediterranean Sea can offer.
But it would not be until years later that he discovered a contact with the nature difficult to find, the light and the wildlife of a continent which would transform him forever: Africa.

Here is where his real passion for capturing the animal world through photography started.

Today he captures through his viewfinder the fragile balance between life and death in some of the wildest places of the planet where animal behavior is not comparable to anywhere else in the world.

His shots are his individual way of preserving a world that we are destroying and that belongs to ALL OF US.

23 to 30 August

State Park Meeting of Water

Mornings start early in the Pantanal; breakfast early morning and leaving as soon as possible for better photo shoot opportunities ( You can adjust the time of breakfast with your guide). We will leave the hotel in a motorboat looking for jaguars in the tributaries of the Meeting of the Waters State Park, this is one of the three largest protect areas in Pantanal. With a high density of jaguar prey, including caiman and large groups of capybara, this location offers you the best chance to see a jaguar attack. When the water of the Pantanal is at its lowest, from June till November, and the banks of the rivers become exposed, jaguars ar often found resting and hunting along the river’s edge. We will also encounter other interesting wildlife, including Giant Otters, Neotropical Otters, Caimans, Capibaras, Tapirs, Yellow Anaconda, Howler Monkeys, Capuchin Monkeys and many birds species including the magnificent Touco Toucan and the endangered Hyacinth Macaw. Often we enjoy our lunch watching the jaguar. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of opportunities to take a safe bathroom breaks on the beach as necessary. Continuing the drive further 139km to Piuval lodge. Your accommodation and dinner will be at a hotel.

Early safari on 31 august, before sunrise by safari car around the Piuval farm looking for lesser tamandua and giant anteater, also birds species, go back to breakfast 7:00.
